Teresa Stivers has worked in the child welfare space for nearly two decades and has served as Chief Executive Office for Walden Family Services for more than 10 years. During her tenure with the organization, Teresa has led Walden through successful accreditations from CARF, the independent agency whose evaluations of health and human services organizations is internationally recognized as the gold standard of care; twice earned Human Rights Campaign’s highest innovator seal of recognition “All Children–All Families” for providing culturally competent services for LGBTQ children/families; and expanded transitional housing services, making Walden the second-largest provider in Southern California.
Prior to Walden, Teresa was with the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation where she served as Program Director and Executive Director. Her commitment to foster children in San Diego County has helped launch and establish many signature programs, including the Guardian Scholars Program and Mary’s House, a transitional living program for former foster youth.
Teresa currently serves on the Executive Committee for the University of California, San Diego Chancellor's Community Advisory Board. Most recently she was a member of the Steering Committee of the Clinton Foundation Strong Families, Thriving Committees Task Force working to eliminate systemic racism in the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice System in San Diego County.

Layla A. Ramirez is an Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ID&E) practitioner at Amazon Web Services (AWS), a global cloud service provider. During her tenure at AWS, Layla has built, scaled, and managed leadership development programs to address the needs of early, mid-career, and executive-level Latinx talent across the globe. Most recently her work has focused on re-imagining and transforming the onboarding and first-year experience of Black, Latinx, Native American, and Women talent globally.
Layla joined AWS after having held ID&E positions at Netflix, Danaher Corporation, and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT). Patty is the Learning and Development Director for UVA Finance at the University of Virginia. In this role, she leads a team of trainers and provides guidance and leadership on all phases of employee development including analyzing learning needs, training content development and delivery, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning programs.
Prior to joining UVA Finance, Patty spent 12 years in Human Resources at UVA, developing and delivering leadership development programs, and managing the systems and technical training team. Patty began her career in employee development with the Federal government, serving in the Office of Personnel Management and the Department of Education. Patty is a certified leadership coach, helping leaders and organizations confront and manage challenges.
For the past two years, Patty has been leading her department’s Inclusive Excellence team. The team and department leadership are in the process of implementing their plan which includes 11 goals and 33 action items to address diversity, equity, and inclusion.
